Note:
When a third-party calendar supports the CalDAV protocol, the service will provide a CalDAV URL. You can usually find it in the calendar’s Settings or Help & Support pages; copy that URL to use as the Base URL in Cozyla Calendar.
Applies to: Calendar+, Calendar+ 2, Calendar+ Go, and Calendar+ SE
You can connect supported third-party calendars to Cozyla Calendar using the CalDAV protocol.
CalDAV is a calendar sync standard used by some calendar providers. Your calendar provider must support CalDAV and provide a CalDAV URL for setup to work.
This example uses Zoho Calendar
Before You Begin
Before connecting a CalDAV calendar, make sure:
- Your Cozyla device is connected to the internet
- Your third-party calendar provider supports CalDAV
- You can access your provider’s CalDAV URL
- You know the account ID and password for the third-party calendar
- You know which member profile should use the calendar
Sync a CalDAV Calendar With Cozyla Calendar
- Open Settings in the top-right corner.
- Tap Calendars.
- In the member section where you want to add the calendar, tap Add.
- Tap CalDAV.
- Tap Add Account.
Get Your CalDAV URL
This example uses Zoho Calendar.
- Return to the home screen and open the App Drawer.
- Launch Chrome.
- Go to the Zoho website and sign in to your account.
- Open Settings.
- Scroll down to find the CalDAV URL.
- Tap Copy to copy the CalDAV URL.
Connect the CalDAV Calendar
- Exit Chrome and open Cozyla Calendar again.
- In the Server Address field, paste the copied CalDAV URL.
- Enter your third-party calendar account ID and password.
- Tap Two-Way Sync to continue.
-
When your calendars appear, use the switches to choose:
- Which calendars you want to sync
- Which member profile each calendar should sync to
- Tap Done to finish setup.
Show or Hide CalDAV Calendar Events
Each connected calendar has a checkbox.
- Checked = events from that calendar appear on your Cozyla Calendar
- Unchecked = events from that calendar are hidden from the screen
If some events are missing, confirm the correct calendars are checked.
Important Information About Reassigning Third-Party Calendars
Because third-party calendars can only be linked to a single user account, reassigning an event from one member to another will cause the event to sync to the new account if the new member has a linked calendar selected as the sync target. The event will also be removed from the original linked calendar account.
To avoid issues such as events disappearing or syncing unexpectedly:
- Add a Profile directly to the event instead of reassigning the event to another member
- Or create a dedicated Family Profile specifically for connecting this type of third-party calendar
Troubleshooting
The CalDAV Calendar Does Not Connect
If setup fails:
- Confirm your calendar provider supports CalDAV.
- Confirm the CalDAV URL is correct.
- Confirm your account ID and password are correct.
- Confirm your Cozyla device is connected to the internet.
- Try copying the CalDAV URL again from the calendar provider.
Events Are Missing
If some calendar events do not appear:
- Go to Settings > Calendars.
- Confirm the correct calendars are checked.
- Confirm the calendar is assigned to the correct member profile.
- Wait a few minutes for sync to complete.
Changes Are Not Syncing Back
If changes made in Cozyla Calendar do not sync back to the third-party calendar:
- Confirm the calendar provider supports two-way CalDAV sync.
- Confirm the correct calendar is selected as the sync target.
- Refresh the calendar or wait a few minutes for sync to complete.
The Wrong Calendar Is Receiving Events
If events sync to the wrong calendar:
- Review which calendar was selected as the sync target during setup.
