What This Article Covers
This guide explains how to complete the customer task described in “Troubleshooting: partial Google Calendar sync — check & fix guide.”
Before You Start
- Make sure your Cozyla device is powered on.
- Make sure your device is connected to Wi-Fi when the task requires online access.
- Make sure you can access any third-party account, app, or service used in this guide.
- If your screen does not match this guide, update the relevant Cozyla app or device software where applicable.
Steps
If some events from a Google calendar sync to Cozyla but others don’t, the most common cause is calendar-level sharing permissions. Follow these steps on the Google Calendar web (calendar.google.com) to check and fix permissions so the Cozyla-synced account can access all events.
Step-by-step: grant the correct permission
- Open Google Calendar in a browser (calendar.google.com).
- On the left under My calendars, hover over the calendar you want to check.
- Click the three-dot menu that appears to the right of the calendar name (Options for ).
- Choose Settings and sharing.
- On the Settings page, locate the Share with section.
-
Find the Google account you used to connect Cozyla (the email address Cozyla syncs with).
- If the account is not listed, click Add people, enter that email, and add it.
- For that account, set the permission level to Make changes and manage sharing.
- Once the permission is updated, Cozyla should be able to access and sync those events.
Quick checks & additional tips
- Make sure the events that didn’t sync are actually on the calendar you updated (events created on a different calendar won’t appear).
- If events are imported/created by another service or use unusual privacy settings, confirm the event’s owner didn’t restrict visibility.
- After changing permissions, go back to Cozyla Calendar → Settings → Sync and refresh the Google calendar connection (disconnect/reconnect or reauthorize if needed).
- If you use multiple Google accounts, confirm Cozyla is connected to the same account you updated in Google Calendar.
Still not working?
If events still don’t appear after verifying permissions and reauthorizing:
- Remove and re-add the Google connection in Cozyla (this forces a fresh sync).
- Check whether the missing events are recurring or have exceptions—these sometimes require re-syncing from the source.
-
Contact Cozyla Support with screenshots of the Google calendar Settings and sharing page and the affected event(s); include:
- The email account you used for the sync,
- Your Cozyla ID account,
- Your device SN number.(You can get this information from in: Settings → About Device → Model → Serial Number)
Troubleshooting
- Confirm your device is connected to Wi-Fi.
- Restart the app or device if the screen does not respond as expected.
- Update the relevant Cozyla app or device software if your screen does not match this guide.
- Confirm the external account or calendar is still active and accessible.
- Use the manual sync or refresh option if available.
- If only some events are missing, check sharing permissions and which calendar the events belong to.
